Stopping to Gawk at Wichita Waterwalk

The evening was fair with not a breeze to rustle my hair.  We rode from the south fast and arrived downtown at last.  We stopped for burgers and beer then headed out without fear. (No brakes might scare some people)...

Last stop was to gawk at the fountain at Wichita Waterwalk.

1936 Schwinn... Look Ma, No Brakes

Oooooo... Aaahhh

Good friends... Good fun... Good ride

Klunker

Before there was mountain bikes.. There were Klunkers.

Here are some of the Klunkers I have built.

1954 Schwinn

1938 Schwinn Henderson

1936 Schwinn Packard

1940 Schwinn Henderson... Steps 1, 2, 3

Charlie Kelly sent me a T-Shirt

Ok... So, I really had to buy it off EBay.

I am a big fan of T-Shirts as much as I am a fan of Klunking and the early years of mountain biking.

Long story short... Charlie Kelly is one of the pioneers of mountain biking and this is a shirt with a print of one of the first posters for the Repack races.

I am gonna wear the crap outa this thing.

Thank you Charlie Kelly

Called into work at 3am ... On my way boss

Here is what you will need for an early morning run to the office:

Donuts, coffee and filters in tool can, lights, lock, orange juice in water bottle, cash and identification, coffee cup, and a big knife because you never know who or what will come at you.

30 min and 7 miles later and I'm here.

Well, it is time to get the coffee going.

May is Bike Month

Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try. Whether you bike to work or school; ride to save money or time; pump those pedals to preserve your health or the environment; or simply to explore your community, National Bike Month is an opportunity to celebrate the unique power of the bicycle and the many reasons we ride.

Check out Bicycle Ride and Seek on Facebook.  This months challenge should be a fun one.  Join in to have fun. Over the next couple weeks I will be posting pictures of my accomplishments.
